Why are all Golf Swings Different?

Understanding why all golf swings are different is very important. All beginning instructors need to remember that all golf swings are as unique as a fingerprint. It tells us that there is no one way to do it.

The next question is:

“What are the things that make all swings unique?”

The following is a catalog of considerations to help identify individual differences in your swing:

  1.  Desired ball flight (fade, draw, high, low, etc.)
  2. The golfer’s body type and length of the body segments—tall and thin, short and stocky, medium build, toned and muscular, long bones or short bones
  3. Flexibility level
  4. Muscularity and strength in the upper body and lower body
  5. Eye dominance (right vs. left)
  6. Right-handed vs. left-handed
  7. Neuromuscular control and athleticism
  8. Tension level in the hands, arms, and shoulders
