Meet Our Founder Jacob Williams

Jacob Williams is the founder/CEO of Golf Upgrades in San Diego, California, where he gives golf lessons. With 20+ years of golf experience, Jacob is quickly rising the ranks to be one of the top golf instructors in San Diego. He started Golf Upgrades in 2017 by giving golf lessons in backyards and local parks.

An accomplished player, Jacob has been playing tournament golf for 10+ years and played 4 years of NCAA golf at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). As an instructor, he is inspired by George Gankas, Chris Mayson, Michael Mcnary, Butch Harmon, Dana Dahlquist, Grant Waite, Joseph Mayo, David Leadbetter and Mac O'Grady. Each teacher had a tremendous influence on Jacob, who is now a PGA apprentice.

A Message From Our Founder, Jacob Williams PGA Associate

I started playing golf when I was very young, and my first kids' golf club came when I was three years old. Golf was my whole life until I was recruited to play NCAA Golf at UCSD. For four years, I played there while studying economics & accounting before turning professional in 2016.

I've been a teaching professional since 2016 and I absolutely love it! In that time, I've given thousands of golf lessons and helped people of all levels, from beginners to scratch golfers, improve their games.

I created Golf Upgrades because I saw a need for quality, affordable golf lessons in San Diego. And what could be more rewarding than helping people learn this amazing game? I look forward to meeting you and assisting you with your golf game.
