Golf Lessons at MCAS Miramar: Access and Booking Guide
Miramar Memorial Golf Course is located inside Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Booking a golf lesson does not by itself grant access to the installation. Confirm your eligibility and access requirements before selecting this location.
Golf Upgrades also teaches at Sorrento Canyon Golf Center, which should be considered first when base access is uncertain.
Who can visit the golf course?
The official MCCS Miramar golf-course page states that the facility is open to active-duty personnel, retirees, Department of Defense patrons, and the general public. It also states that public guests seeking a one-day or longer pass are subject to access requirements and a background check.
The same official page currently says the facility is open to U.S. citizens and residents only. Requirements can change, and Golf Upgrades cannot approve or guarantee entry.
Identification and visitor passes
MCCS advises that visitors seeking a one-day or longer pass must have a REAL ID. If the visitor does not have a REAL ID, the official guidance requires a second accepted form of identification.
Use the current MCCS page and its Base Access Form for the latest instructions. If anything is unclear, contact the installation or golf shop before lesson day. Do not rely only on an older blog post, map listing, or past visit.
Booking a Golf Upgrades lesson at Miramar
Golf Upgrades' current booking information lists 30-minute Miramar lessons with Jacob Williams, PGA Associate. The current listed rates are $55 for military students and $65 for civilian students. Payment is made directly to the Miramar pro shop.
Calendly remains the source of truth for available Golf Upgrades lesson times. A booking confirms the coaching time; it does not replace the access process.
Before you arrive
- Confirm that Miramar is the location shown on your booking.
- Review the current MCCS access guidance and complete any required process.
- Bring the identification required for your access category.
- Allow extra time for the gate and visitor process.
- Confirm any golf-shop payment or range-ball instructions in the booking details.
If access is uncertain or timing is tight, choose an available Sorrento Canyon lesson instead.
Practice facilities
MCCS describes Miramar Memorial Golf Course as having a driving range, putting green, chipping green, and short-game area. Facility hours and availability can change because of holidays, maintenance, installation operations, or other conditions. Check the official page before traveling.
